We spent the last week of September visiting Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park. I have been there at least 10 times over the last 35 years. I never get tired of the scenery or watching the wildlife. I prefer to visit the last week of September or the first week of October when fall colors are at their peak, elk and moose are in rut, and the huge crowds have gone home. Fall color did not disappoint us this year. It was right on time - looking prime at the beginning of the week and pretty much over by the end of the week. You can usually count on at least a dusting of snow during the 1st week of October. That was right on time too this year.
We spent 3.5 days in each park, staying in West Yellowstone while seeing Yellowstone NP and in Jackson while seeing Grand Teton NP. Jackson is always a fun town; good food, shopping and galleries - with emphasis on good food.
The area is a favorite of ours and I hope to show you why through my photography. Enjoy!
