The
Isel House is the stately home of British watchmaker Thomas Marsden who arrived in New Zealand in 1842. Marsden built the house and planted a park on a portion of his 930 acres. Today, the park contains a wide variety of trees that are well into their second century. Unfortunately, we had heavy rain during our visit. I quickly walked the loop through the park but, not wanting to soak my camera gear, did not come away with any photos.
