Kea is an alpine parrot found in upper mountain regions on the South Island. Hmm, what will they think of next! There was a sign warning tourists not to feed the Kea but, that doesn't stop the birds from begging.

Their reputaion for getting into mischief is well known. They routinely "attack" cars, trying to destroy windshield wipers or remove any plastic strips they can get their beaks into.
